Custom GRP Access Platform
For this industrial wastewater treatment plant, we delivered a fully custom made GRP access platform. Thanks to the corrosion resistant and low maintenance properties of GRP, the structure is ideally suited for humid and chemically aggressive environments. Its lightweight design enables fast and efficient installation.

Custom GRP Access Platform
1. The Challenge
For an industrial wastewater treatment plant, the customer was looking for a durable and low maintenance alternative to a steel access platform. Due to the humid and chemically demanding environment, corrosion resistance, safety, and a long service life were key requirements. In addition, the structure needed to integrate with the existing steel installation and allow for quick installation.
2. Our Approach
Based on an initial design sketch, we worked closely with the customer to assess whether the steel structure could be executed in GRP. Drawing on our expertise in composite structures, we developed a solution that fully met the technical requirements of the installation.
GRP offers several important advantages compared to steel. The material is corrosion resistant, lightweight, and requires very little maintenance. Additionally, all components can be supplied prefabricated and ready for installation. This enables the structure to be assembled quickly and efficiently, with minimal installation time on site.
3. The Solution
The final result is a fully custom made GRP access platform for a wastewater treatment plant. The structure consists of GRP gratings, stair treads, handrails, structural profiles, and stainless steel fastening materials.
Thanks to its high resistance to moisture, corrosion, and chemicals, the platform provides safe and durable access to the installation. Its lightweight construction simplifies installation, while the low maintenance properties help reduce costs throughout the lifespan of the structure.
