Steel construction
In steel construction projects, GRP gratings and GRP structures are often used in combination with steel. The primary supporting structure is usually made of steel, while GRP is used for functional components such as walkways, platforms, stairs, stair stringers and handrails.
GRP does not replace steel in this context, but rather serves as a purposeful addition. Due to its low weight, corrosion resistance and low-maintenance nature, GRP is particularly suitable for components that are subject to intensive use or exposed to weather influences and aggressive environments.
The combination of steel and GRP also offers practical advantages during production and assembly. GRP components are light and easy to handle, which contributes to efficient construction logistics and quick assembly on site. At the same time, the strength and robustness of the steel main structure is retained.
We supply GRP gratings in standard sizes, custom-cut gratings from stock (CTS) and project-based solutions (CUST). In addition, we can supply complete GRP construction parts that connect to standard steel profiles and details.
In collaboration with steel constructors, we contribute ideas on detailing, fastening methods and material selection, so that steel and GRP reinforce each other within a single integrated and sustainable structure.
