Custom GRP grating for ships and offshore applications
1. The request
For this offshore project, there was a need for a large quantity of custom GRP grating. All grating had to be fully tailor-made to fit a technically complex design. The project required multiple cut-outs and had to meet strict specifications within the marine and offshore environment.
2. Our approach
Based on the provided data and technical drawings, all GRP grating panels were carefully engineered and detailed. In offshore and marine applications, safety is essential. The grating must remain safe to walk on under harsh conditions such as water, oil, and dirt. Therefore, a high-quality anti-slip GRP surface was crucial.
In addition, the delivery process had to be efficient and well-organised to support smooth on-site installation. All grating components were clearly labelled, ensuring fast and error-free assembly.
3. The solution
The result is a complete system of more than 1,000 m² of custom GRP grating, fully engineered and successfully installed in this offshore project.
The combination of custom manufacturing, high-quality finishing, and efficient logistics ensured a fast and trouble-free installation. All parts were clearly labelled upon delivery, which significantly improved installation efficiency.
Thanks to the material properties, the GRP grating is corrosion-resistant and suitable for harsh offshore environments. This guarantees a long service life with minimal maintenance, making it an ideal solution for both ships and offshore structures.
Throughout the project, close collaboration with the client ensured flexibility, clear communication, and an optimal end result.
