- Plastic grates, stainless steel fasteners
- The advantages:
- Lightweight, easy to assemble and disassemble, durable (can be reused on subsequent platforms)
1. The request
For the renovation of platform 4 at Amsterdam Central Station, the request was to supply a temporary platform structure that meets the strict requirements of the railway sector and is suitable for the specific situation on site.
2. Our approach
In consultation with the client, all wishes and requirements were carefully inventoried. Based on this set of requirements, a GRP grating type with a closed top layer was chosen. This solution was necessary because there is a bicycle parking facility under the platform. The plates are waterproof, with only limited moisture penetration through the seams.
3. The solution
A fully custom-designed temporary platform has been constructed that meets the high safety and quality requirements within the railway sector. The design explicitly takes reuse into account: after completion of this phase, some of the gratings will be reused for the next platform. This minimises the ecological impact.
