GRP platform project
For this project, FlexxCon constructed a fully GRP work platform on the Maasvlakte in Rotterdam. The platform is positioned above an industrial installation and has been specially designed for safe, low-maintenance use in a harsh and corrosive outdoor environment. FlexxCon handled every aspect of this project, from engineering to installation.

1. The request
Our client was looking for a low-maintenance, chemically resistant work platform above an industrial installation on the Maasvlakte. The platform had to be suitable for a harsh outdoor environment (salty sea air), have sufficient load-bearing capacity for process equipment and be safely accessible. In addition, a tight delivery time played an important role.
2. Our approach
FlexxCon took care of the entire process: from design to installation. The platform was designed in accordance with NEN-EN-ISO 14122, taking into account customer-specific requirements. During the engineering phase, loads, environmental influences and the desired access via a fixed ladder were taken into account. Production, transport and installation on site were coordinated by FlexxCon.
3. The solution
A complete GRP work platform measuring 2000 x 2000 mm, installed above the industrial installation and accessible via a fixed ladder. The construction is corrosion-resistant, low-maintenance and suitable for long-term use in an industrial outdoor environment. The platform was delivered and installed at the Maasvlakte within the agreed time frame.
