Sagging / deflection
Within the context of safety, you have to take the maximum allowable sagging (deflection) into account. FRP grating is high in strength and will only fail under extremely high loads. The maximum permitted deflection lies at the limit of 1% in relation to the span. In the case of a net span of 1000 mm, a grating may deflect not exceeding 10 mm. If the deflection becomes too high, you can choose to adjust the grating thickness or to provide extra support to the grating.
The load table, as shown in the datasheets, allows you to choose the correct type of grating. Here, the load is set off against the span which results in the deflection.
